Welcome to Ealing Synagogue

Ealing Synagogue (a member of the United Synagogue) was founded more than 80 years ago.  The shul's character and warmth is reflected in its congregation, whose open friendliness welcomes everyone, whether a guest for a simcha, a visitor or a prospective new member. 

Weekly Shabbat services are traditional, and congregants are invited to participate, by reading Maftir and Haftorah, and men and women(!) are invited to give a D'var Torah once a month on a topic of their choice. 

Kiddushim are provided each week so that congregants have a chance to chat to those people they didn't get a chance to talk to while actually in shul!

Children are our future, and we encourage them to participate as much as possible - singing "Anim Zmerot" in shul (practice for their Bar Mitzvah!), or even just accompanying their dads or granddads to open the Ark.  Jewish Day schools are within easy reach, and Cheder classes are available for children in Ealing.

Adult interests are social and educational, with outside speakers, concerts, and theatre trips.  A recent trip to Hampstead Theatre to see "3 Sisters on Hope Street" was a successful afternoon.  Further events, visits to places and exhibitions of interest will be arranged throughout the year, so please look out for notification of these.

Ealing Synagogue aims to provide something for all ages and interests and we hope that you will join us.

One in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. The Jewish Community is no different from any other. Acknowledging the existence of the problem is the first step to ensuring that those suffering such abuse can find the help and support they need.

The Ealing Synagogue Guild is co-chaired by Joan Michaels and Joyce Frankal, and meetings are held every two months.  The next meeting and will be on Monday 12 January 2009 at 2.30 p.m. at the home of Joan Michaels.
